Many thanks to our wonderful volunteers last Saturday! We left the banks of the bayou much better than we found them! Also, thanks to our hospitality guild for a marvelous feast after worship Sunday, and especially to Mr. Lynn Kelley for providing the delicious smoked pork. I was especially delighted to see how many chose to stay and enjoy the food and fellowship. A good time was had by all!
This is just a reminder that we have “adopted” a bayou! We’ll meet at 9 AM Saturday at the Waterlife Museum, where we’ll be given trash grabbers, trash bags, etc. When we’re done, everyone’s invited to the Marriott grounds for a community picnic. This is such a great way to give back to our community and to model community service for our children. I do hope you will join us for this great event and fun time.
Also, Bishop Thompson will be here Sunday. After our worship there’ll be a fantastic feast in our Parish Hall. Knowing Mr. Kelley, he’s probably already getting the smoke going for those hams! Also, bring your wallet. The girl scouts will be here to hook you up with some cookies. Beware the thin mints! Also, we have some enterprising students who have started a bookmark business. They will be offering their bookmarks for sale, and they will donate half of their proceeds to an animal rescue shelter.
I’m so looking forward to this weekend. See ya’ll in church,
